European Carers Conference - 17-19 May 2010, Edinburgh
Dear colleague EUROCARERS, in partnership with Scotland’s carer organisations, invite all those with an interest in family care and carer support to a carers conference entitled “Does Europe Care: The future of carer support in Europe”, on 17-19 May 2010. The conference takes place in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital. Please find enclosed a draft programme which can also be downloaded from the conference registration website at www.hfevents.co.uk/DoesEuropeCare2010. As part of the conference, EUROCARERS will host the Annual General Meeting of the organisation and we hope to attract new representatives and members to both events to shape new partnerships and cooperation. This conference seeks to develop new partnerships for all those interested in developing carer research, policy and support, in Europe and across the nations and regions. We are pleased to welcome international speakers on European policy and on key caring issues including young carers, equality & carers’ rights, migrant care workers, and carer poverty. This conference will be relevant to many member states and potentially an important stepping stone for the development of carer recognition, advocacy and carer support in Europe. We hope to reach out to many countries and regions which may only begin to develop carer policies and support, to develop new partnerships and share experiences and knowledge. For this we would benefit from your support – please help us to promote this conference through your own national and European networks. We hope to hear from you and to welcome you in Edinburgh! With best wishes Robert Anderson, Chairperson EurocarersSebastian Fischer, Eurocarers and Coalition of Carers in Scotland Robert Anderson | President EUROCARERS Sebastian Fischer | Coalition of Carers in Scotland, EUROCARERS EC & Conference Coordinationc/o VOCAL - Voice of Carers Across Lothian 8-13 Johnston Terrace, Edinburgh, EH1 2PW | Phone +44 (0)131 622 6666Direct line +44 (0)131 622 7620 | Mobile +44(0)7780 992899 | sfischer@vocal.org.uk | www.vocal.org.uk
